Where is the deepest part of the Atlantic?

On the floor of the Atlantic ocean there are mountains and valleys.. lonely hills and deep gorges. In some places, the ocean mountains poke up through the surface and form islands. ,Tn other places, the sea bed is one, two or more miles below the surface, In one plane, the floor of the Atlantic is more than five miles below the surface.

The deepest region so far charted in the Atlantic is off Puerto Rico. This great gash in the ocean floor is palled the Puerto Rico Trench. The average depth of the ditch is about two and a half miles. But there are even deeper pits in its floors, One. of these pits is called the Milwaukee Depth, which is more than 30,000 feet, or about five and three quarter miles below the surface.
