Where do wrens migrate?

In March and April, the dainty little house wrens come back from their winter vacation and many wren families return to nest in the very same tree, barn or bird box they used last year and the year before. In September and October they depart with their young families to warmer climates, where beetles and bugs can be found during the winter months.

Some of them go to Florida for the winter, others spend a few months along the balmy shores of the Gulf of Mexico and some of them share the southwestern deserts with a host of other migratory birds. Certain wrens do not migrate at all. In southern California, the climate is suitable both summer and winter and here the little cuties are permanent, year.. round residents.
